Synopsis:
The night before shipping out to the Vietnam war, 1963. A collection of rowdy marines begin a betting pool - and the marine who brings the ugliest date to the dance that evening wins the lot. When Eddie Birdlace meets Rose Fenny, he knows he is a shoe-in to win the bet. But Eddie may not be able to forget about Rose as quickly as he'd planned.
