Synopsis:
"Look at her skin, china white, tissue thin, look how the light cuts clear to the bone, gives her features a tone.... I'd take it any day... Praise God for everyone I meet, while I, I am on my way!"
Based on the short story, "The Ugliest Pilgrim" (Doris Betts), a young physically disfigured woman, Violet Karl, travels across the southern states of the USA in 1964 in search of a healing touch.
The 2014 Broadway revival of Violet had a highly successful season starring Sutton Foster as the titular character, and has won the Drama Critics’ Circle Award and the Lucile Lortel Award for Best Musical.
